Members of the 386 AEW Fire Department deployed to South West Asia to make the climb. 110 stories for fallen brothers. It was a somber and great event. We only had a 5 story building, so we got to do 22 laps.

We thank the 343 that could not climb with us.

Please remember our fallen Brothers everytime we go on a call. This was the first year that I was honored to partake in Pittsburgh's 2nd stair climb. This day allowed me to spend time with other firefighters that care so deeply. We made the promise that we will not only continue this climb for our Brothers, but to spread the word of this event, so their families will know that we have not forgotten. Our Brothers that I climbed for:
Lt. Charles J. Margiotta, L-85
FF Kenneth J. Marino, R1
FF Joseph E. Maloney, L-3
and BC Joseph R. Marchbanks, Jr., Bn-12.
God Bless, and please take care.
Constance Giuffre F.F. 265
Hi my name is Evan Wallace. I did the 9/11 stair climb in Pittsburgh yesterday. We only had to go up 22 stories 5 times equal to 1 mile but I went beyond that and did another 5 times. I went up 22 stories 10 times - that's 220 stories I did in honor of the 343 public saftey personal that were lost that day. That's equal to both the twin towers together

Today, my daughter and I volunteered for the first time at the Dallas, TX 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Words cannot even describe the atmosphere in that place. All the firefighters worked together and showed respect for their fallen brothers. I have never been around so many polite gentlemen in my life. So many of them, after having climbed 110 flights, actually thanked me for volunteering! It was an amazing experience and we plan to continue volunteering in future climbs. Thank you firefighters for helping us to remember. May we never forget!!

I participated in my first 9-11 memorial stair climb at FDIC on Friday, April 20, 2012. I climbed for Lt. Vernon A. Richard (Ladder 7) and Firefighter Robert J. Foti (Ladder 7). It was an inspirational climb. It was the best way to top off our trip to FDIC. Never forget.

My daughter, Kerry, and I did the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb run by the Raritan Township Fire Company, in Flemington, NJ. We climbed in honor of my husband and Kerry's father, Lt. Michael Quilty of Ladder 11. It was great to see the participant turnout, and even greater to watch the videos of stair climbs around the country. It was so moving to see that everyone remembers his sacrifice, and that of the other firefighters. It makes it so personal when each person climbs in memory of one of the 343. Coincidentally, Kerry was given the number 148, which is the ladder company where Mike worked for most of his career.

My family and I participated in the Colorado 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Red Rocks Amphitheater outside Denver. I climbed on behalf of FDNY Firefighter Kevin Smith of Long Island, NY. Being a Smith from NYC and Long Island, I was most proud to climb in memory of Kevin and all of the brave first responders of 9-11-01.

I went to the Manchester, NH 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb today. It was so moving to see all the firefighters there in full gear making the climb. I went because I am very proud to be a citizen of the best country on Earth and I wanted to support those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. It was an incredibly difficult task, but the least I could do to support the men and women that protect us all everyday. God Bless all the First Responders, Troops and God Bless America!

On 7/21/11 I participated in the Baltimore stair climb at Firehouse EXPO. I climbed in honor of firefighter Christopher Blackwell of Rescue 3. Christopher grew up in New Fairfield approximately 15 minutes from where I live and although before my time I believe was also involved in the fire service in Connecticut.

It was an honor to climb in memory of the 343 brothers lost on 9/11. The camaraderie and brotherhood shown in Baltimore was amazing. It was an experience I'll always remember.

Never forget. 343 9/11/01

I had the extreme honor of climbing on a team with Hope's husband and son, who awed me with their dedication to participate in full gear. Thank you to them for letting me be a part of their station family that day. Before the climb, I was scared of what I was in for (as I imagine all those men were that terrible day). But everyone was so supportive of each other during the climb. We cheered on participants from other teams as much as we cheered on each other. Although I was not able to carry the photos of any of the FDNY personnel I knew personally, as they had all already been distributed by the time I was given a picture, I proudly carried the memory of Louis Modafferi from Rescue 5 with me through the entire climb. I drew my strength from him and from my other angel in heaven, my cousin Mark Falkenhan, a firefighter killed in the line of duty in January. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in such a profound experience. This may have been my first memorial stair climb, but I am certain it will not be my last.

On July 21, 2011, I supported my son and my husband who made the climb together at the Firehouse Expo. I was so touched by the overwhelming brotherhood of the men and women paying tribute to the firefighters we lost on 9/11/01. To the families of the fallen, please know that hereos are never forgotten, they live in the spirit and will of the comrades left behind. I know my son will forever be connected to Michael Cammarata and do his best to honor Michael's name and memory.
